I would like to know what banks are going to fail. Our government is supposed to keep us informed. Wouldn't it be easier if we could get our money out of the bank before they closed and that would free up FDIC.

Well, we're really not paying for them much anymore James, because they all paid back their TARP money. But the banking system does need some kind of reform, whether the stock brokers like it or not because it is a lot of money that affects a heck of a lot of people.

Wish I could help you, Bob, but since I don't understand your note, and you obviously didn't read the post, and I'm not even sure if your email address is correct (if it bounces back I'll know it was spam and delete both), I can't help you, unfortunately.

Wilson, I'm not sure it's necessarily in as downward a trajectory as some of these guys are saying. I do see the number starting to rise if the commercial real estate market does crash, but thousands,... I just find that hard to believe. I'd bet that, instead, we'd see more mergers before that happened.

Mitch, it seems that things is keep moving in downward position, since there are more and more banks are about to be closed before the end of this year!

PS: The closing of 1,000 banks is really a scary statistic and I hope it won't turn into a reality...

I agree with Mitch. Even if the number of banks failing doubles from now on, i think it will not exceed 300. 1000 is a bit of exaggeration imho.

Jason, that's about one of the scariest things I've seen. I think he's wrong, but I do see at least 250 to 300 more banks failing as the commercial real estate market starts to bust.

There is an article (http://www.cnbc.com/id/32581463) on CNBC where a CEO of a bank says that 1,000 banks will fail over the next two years. How bad does that sound?
.-= Jason´s last blog ..I hate dreams… =-.
