Sire, you'd think so, but, unfortunately, it just doesn't work out that way most of the time.

It seems to me that whatever that party is they should wake up to themselves. It's obvious the current system didn't work so perhaps something drastic has to be done.

In America, there's always a debate as to whether the government should get into regulating certain businesses. In this case, it seems that if we'd stuck with certain regulations we wouldn't be in this position at the present time, but one party still doesn't like the idea at all.

Truthfully Brandon, I don't see anything that's leading me to get there, except for the fact that the bottom seems to have been found so far, after the way it dropped over the last quarter of 2008. It may be doing its own version of parry and thrust, but it's stopped falling. Now, if people in general get behind the stimulus package, or at least behind what it represents, and if they start feeling a bit more confident in things because of it, then the market will start inching back up by summer. I'm very hopeful for that, but of course not being Kreskin, I could easily be wrong.

You're about to start your own bank? Amazing! You'll have to tell me how you're doing it, and I hope you keep writing about it as it grows.

Just goes to show how quick off the mark I am in replying to your posts. I've always said that government regulation is required in certain sectors and banking certainly is one of them.

I'm floored at what is going on with our banking system. I'm about to start a bank myself here in Michigan, because I TRULY believe that I could operate it with some UNCOMMON common sense. Do you really think the market could turn around by summer? I'm thinking we could be in a funky pattern of flatness for a couple of years. I just don't see anything helping us dig out of debt and gain upward financial momentum as a society.

I fixed the code probably after you commented, but before I saw this. lol

And I think you're correct, your banking system is way more regulated than ours, although my bet is that our banking system is about to get a lot more rules they're going to have to follow. And, I must say, it's probably about time.

We haven't had any dramas with our banks that I know of and it was just reported that the Commonwealth Bank profits were up 9%. I suppose it has something to do with us having more government regulations in regards to banking than you guys do.

Also there is a problem with your link, I think you missed something out in the code.
