I’ve taken a few days of a break because I’ve been looking for something a bit more positive to talk about before I went back to regular news. And let’s face this fact, we really do need something positive to build off.

So, how’s this statement; you can be wealthy. That sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? No, I’m not about to pitch anything to you, because that’s not my style, although, if you decided to check into some of the things I have on the right side there I wouldn’t be mad at you.

But that’s not what this is about. I’ve been listening to a series of CDs I purchased last year called Secrets To Millionaire Successicon by Brian Tracy, which has a good number of speakers offering their thoughts on how all of us can attain wealth. On one of them, Dr. Denis Waitley of the Waitley Institute said something that I found was quite interesting. He stated that of all the millionaires and billionaires in this country, only 20% of them are 2nd generation wealthy. This means that 80% of the wealthy in the world right now are first generation, meaning they found their own way to wealth, and weren’t born into it.

I don’t believe that there are people smarter than me; that’s just how I get by each day. What I do believe is that there are a great number of people who have figured out some things I haven’t as it applies to attaining great wealth.

There’s nothing wrong with being wealthy; I really believe that. I don’t have any hang ups about money being the root of all evil, or believing that everyone who makes a lot of money is evil or sneaky. I don’t believe that most of these people work harder than I work. I just believe they were able to turn whatever it is they happened to believe in into a dream that brought them success and wealth on the back end. And I believe that, one day, that will be me also.

So, in these days of trouble, with high unemployment, untold numbers of foreclosures, bank failures, credit card fraud, and oh man, do I bring up Bernie again, I believe that there are new opportunities that are going to make themselves available, and those opportunities won’t begin with “a dollar and a dream”. They will take hard work, and they’ll take some deep thoughts, but they’ll be there, or are already there. We only have to believe, persevere, and give it our best shot.
